Swap Bath for Shower in Witney

Bath removed, new shower installed, tidy finish.

Planned bath-to-shower replacements in Witney and West Oxfordshire, fitted properly with the right tray, plumbing, wall preparation, tiling or panels, screen layout and finishing.

I help homeowners remove an unused bath and create a more practical shower area, whether that means a walk-in shower, low-profile tray, enclosure or shower-over-bath option.

Bath-to-shower options

  • Bath out → shower tray + enclosure

  • Bath out → walk-in shower (screen)

  • Keep bath but fit shower + screen

More than just taking the bath out

A good bath-to-shower replacement needs more than simply removing the bath and fitting a tray. The shower area needs to be measured properly, supported properly, plumbed correctly and finished so it is practical, solid and watertight.

Depending on the room, the work may include plumbing alterations, shower tray support, wall preparation, waterproofing where needed, tiling or shower panels, screen fitting, sealing and making good.

Recent bath-to-shower work

This project involved removing an existing bath and replacing it with a large shower tray and enclosure.

Once the bath was removed, hidden leak damage and damp were found underneath. The area had to be dealt with properly before the new shower tray could be fitted.

This is why I treat bath-to-shower work as planned installation work, not just a quick swap. The old bath often hides what is really going on underneath, so preparation matters.
